Hi, I'm Michele and I have been a medical biller for the past 27 years. I have been fortunate to work out of my home and be there for my two older children and my 10 year old. In the 80's, I was making a six figure income and thought the sky was the limit. In the late 90's, I lost it all due to healthcare reform and the introduction of HMOs. I went over six months without any income, had to sell some rental properties I had earmarked for my retirement and was in the verge of bankruptcy.
